Mission, Guidelines & Regulations

Important Information

Mission

Preparation for two main scenarios

  1. We exist in that 7-minute gap between when the crisis occurs and the emergency services arrive. In the United States, it take an average of 7 minutes before EMS, Fire, or Police arrive on scene. Imagine what can occur in that 7 minutes if someone ISN’T there to help. We have the training, equipment, and willingness to do what it takes to help in that timeframe. Once the professional responders arrive, we conduct a brief and promptly turn the situation over.
  2. Oftentimes services are over extended. Large-scale flooding, natural disasters, man-made disasters, etc. During that time we interface with agencies and provide additional assistance. Each area coordinator is tasked with establishing relationship with proper emergency managers, insuring the unit is properly trained, equipped, and qualified to respond, and deploying our resources. Members have the option to respond but are not required.

Guidelines

  1. Members will always conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
  2. Members will always seek to provide safety to themselves first, understanding they do not help a situation if they become another victim.
  3. Members will always act in accordance with due regard for all laws and common judgement. All actions are done under the guidelines of being a good Samaritan. Members must understand they are not granted powers to act as a police officer, emergency medical technician, or fire rescue personnel unless they hold that power through another agency.
  4. Members shall not conduct any action for which they are not properly trained and equipped.
  5. Members shall promptly transfer command of any incident to the proper authorities once those authorities arrive on scene. Any aid shall immediately stop unless directed to continue by those authorities.
  6. Members will not deploy as CCRT unless directed by the local unit coordinator. No deployment shall be conducted that could be construed as acting a private security force, militia, or protest organization.
  7. Training provided by CCRT through any format or medium, or through any CCRT training partners is not meant to impart expertise or authority to act on the behalf of CCRT. Members hereby agree to release, defend, and hold harmless CCRT from any actions they take based on upon association or training offered.

OUR MISSION

TO BE THE FRONTLINE

RESPONDERS WHO MAKE A

DIFFERENCE.

We are the responders who make a difference in that time period
between the incident and when the "first" responders arrive.
